Modern Lapel Pins History:
Lapel Pins were a popular mens item during the mid 20th century. Tie pins
were especially popular and ties themselves were also a fashion accessory.
Today the tie is being replaced by a dressed down corporate America.
While mens tie pins and lapel pins are not seen as often as they
were in the past, womens lapel pins seem to be gaining in popularity.
Most people consider womens lapel pins to be brooches, but this is not
always true. Brooches are usually more ornamental. Lapel Pins can be
subtle or dynamic. Brooches usually have gems of some sort. Lapel pins
can have gems or be hand crafted.
Business and other types of organizations now use lapel pins
for advertising their product or organization.
