Whisky Distillers History: Double Springs Distillers
Double Springs Distillers was owned by Abe Schecter in the 1970's, and
produced such brands as Double Springs KSB, McHenry KSB, Gem of Kentucky
80/20 Blend, Country Club Vodkas, Waterfill & Fraizer KSB. Abe and his
son Bob sold the company to Glenmore Distillers in the early 1980's, after
Abe and Bob had acquired Medley Distilling Co, from the Ben Medley family
in Owensboro. The Schecters lived in Chicago, Abe had worked for the
Barton Distilling Co. in the 50's and 60's, then owned by the Ableson and
Getz families.
