Vermont Breweries History: Magic Hat Brewing
The Magic Hat Brewing was opened on 1994 in Burlington by Bob Johnson and Alan Newman. Magic Hat moved from Burlington to South Burlington in 1997. In their first ten years, Magic Hat distribution expanded to New York, Washington DC, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maryland, New Jersey, Maine, and Delaware. In September 2002, with demand exceeding supply, Magic Hat bought a bankrupt brewery in Key West, Florida, where the brewing capacity is double the size of Magic Hat's Vermont brewery. |
