Oregon History: McMenamins Grand Lodge
The lodge was originally built by the Masonic and Eastern Star Home
organization in 1922 for a home for older, sick and poor Master Masons and
their widows and orphans. The lodge's orphanage was closed in 1928.
In 1999 McMenamins agreed to become the new "custodian" of the Lodge.
In March 1 2000, the property reopened as the McMenamins Grand Lodge and
joined a long list of McMenamins properties that includes Pubs, Breweries,
Music Venues, Historic Hotels, and Theater Pubs.
