Oregon Breweries History: Bridge Port Brewing Company
BridgePort is Oregon's Oldest Craft Brewery having been started in 1984. The
brewery and adjacent brew pub are located in Portland's historic "Pearl District" at
1313 NW Marshall Street. The Bridge Port Brewing Company building is a former
hemp rope factory and is more than a century old. In 1997 the Bridge Port brewery
was expanded to a 60,000 barrel capacity.
BridgePort produces a variety of British style ales including "Firkin style" IPA and Porter. BridgePort's "Firkin" beers are naturally conditioned (not force carbonated) in the bottle, keg or firkin cask from which they are served. The natural conditioning creates ale that is smooth, naturally carbonated and full of flavor. Other traditional ales in the BridgePort portfolio include ESB, Black Strap Stout, Amber and the heritage beer, Blue Heron Ale. |
