Ohio Breweries History: Top Hat Brewing Company
In 1963 - December 11th, Top Hat labels begin appearing with "Top Hat Brewing Company Cincinnati, Ohio" on the label. All previous labels listed Schoenling as the brewer. Perhaps Top Hat's budget brand price prompts Schoenling to distance itself from the Top Hat name by creating a new dba: Top Hat Brewing Company. Most people in Cincinnati are still aware that Top Hat has been a Schoenling product since 1937. Schoenling would later use the Top Hat dba for a few contract brands the brewery would produce. |
