New Hampshire is the home of many terrific breweries and brewpubs. The Portsmouth Brewery is located in the Old Harbor historic district. Portsmouth was famous for its shipbuilding in the 1800's and today history buffs and tourists have plenty to enjoy when visiting the historic sites and numerous shops, galleries and restaurants. Near the Vermont border, in West Lebanon, you'll find the Seven Barrel Brewery. The Seven Barrel Brewery is close to two Vermont brewpubs; the Jasper Murdock Alehouse at the Norwich Inn and the Long Trail Brewing Company. This brewpub trail also leads to Vermont's McNeil's Brewery and the Vermont Pub and Brewery in Burlington. Martha's Exchange is located in Nashua and has a bar that is from a speakeasy once owned by Al Capone. The First in the Nation Primary puts New Hampshire on center stage once every four years. It's many breweries and brewpubs play a major role in keeping the New England Brewing industry, first in the nation every year.
