Montana Breweries History: Harvest Moon Brewing Company
Harvest Moon Brewing Company is loacted in Cascade County, home of Great Falls, which hasn't had a brewery in decades and was the last metropolitan area in the state without a microbrewery. Belt, home to about 700 people, is situated a short 17 miles southeast of Great Falls, close enough to service the area but far enough to retain that small town feel. Even more important, Belt has fantastic water. Harvest uses the Belt municpal supply which is supplied by wells sunk into the famous Madison Formation. This formation is also the source for Giant Springs in Great Falls and Big Springs in Lewistown. Belts' water is of constant pure quality and temperature year round, is not treated or chlorinated, and is perfect for brewing the kind of ales that Harvest Moon produces.
