Michigan Breweries History: Kalamazoo Brewing Company

The Kalamazoo Brewing Company was founded by Larry Bell as a home-brewing supply shop in 1983 and sold its first beer in 1985. Kalamazoo Brewing Company is the oldest craft-brewer East of Boulder, Colorado.

In 2002 Kalamazoo Brewing build a new 32,000 square foot brewery located in Comstock, Michigan. The original Kalamazoo Avenue plant remains active brewing beer for the Eccentric Cafe and specialty projects.
