Michigan Breweries History: Canal Street Brewing Company (Founders Brewing Company)
Founders Brewing Company, founded by Mike Stevens
and Dave Engbers produced its first beer in November of 1997.
The Founders Brewing Company is a craft brewery which has
built its reputation on producing very unique beers.
In August of 1998 Founders Brewing Company officially
opened the doors to the public by welcoming its consumers to
visit the on-site Taproom. The Taproom overlooks all of the brewing
facilities allowing our customer to see the operations as it happens.
In addition to the specialty beers theFounders Ale House also has
weekly live music.
