European Breweries History: Whitbread Beer Company
Whitbread Ale is a traditional pale ale that has been brewed since
1742. Then, as now, only the highest grade malted barley and choicest of
English hops go into making Whitbread the finest of pale ales.
In September 2000 a transaction was completed that involved the
acquisition by Interbrew SA (Interbrew), through its subsidiary Interbrew
UK Limited, of the brewing interests of Whitbread plc (Whitbread),
collectively trading as the Whitbread Beer Company (WBC).
