Colorado Breweries History: Odell Brewery
Doug Odell, his wife Wynne and his sister Corkie,
with Doug originally the only full-time employee, founded
Odell Brewing Company in 1989. The original brewery was
located in an old grain elevator built in 1915 and was the
second microbrewery in the state of Colorado to open.
After five years, the popularity of the products
demanded a larger facility, and the current 50-barrel brewhouse
was built. In 1995 a 10,500 square foot addition was added.
After 6 years of commitment to an all draft format, the brewery
began bottling it's beer in twelve ounce bottles in the spring
of 1996. The Odell Brewery is locaed about a half mile east
of the Historic Old Town in Fort Collins.
