California Breweries History: Mendocino Brewing Company
The Hopland Brewery opened on August 14th 1983 and was the First Brewpub in
California since Prohibition and the second in the U.S. In short order,
the small brewing capacity at Hopland could not keep pace with the demand.
A state-of-the-art brewery was built in nearby Ukiah. Blending a respect
for tradition with the best that modern technology has to offer,
Mendocino Brewing Company produces a highly respected range of brews.
But as of 2003 you can still go to the old brewpub in Hopland to sample
the beers with delightful brewpub fare. In the summer, the brew garden
draws locals and visitors alike.
Mendocino Brewing Company brews the following brews: Red Tail Ale,
Eye of the Hawk, Blue Heron Pale Ale, Black Hawk Stout, Peregrine Golden Ale.
