Canadian Breweries History: Upper Canada Brewing

1984 Upper Canada Brewing, Toronto's first microbrewery was founded to produce a family of traditionally-brewed, all natural beers. In August of 1985 the Upper Canada brewery released its first batches of beer to the public, Upper Canada Lager and Upper Canada Dark Ale. In 1985 Upper Canada Brewing added a Light Lager, a 4% alcohol beer offering the rich flavour of a German pilsner. Upper Canada Brewing released Canada Rebellion Lager in 1987 and Upper Canada Wheat in 1989.

IN 1994 Upeer Canada completed construction of their new 100 hectolitre brewhouse and in 1996 the brewery went public.
