The serving trays are made with high gloss colorful paints, painted onto a stiff piece of metal, and represent the various brews or logos of the breweries.

Interesting Tray Facts:

1) Circular beer trays from the U.S. tend to come in two basic sizes. The larger beer trays are approximatly 13" in diameter while the smaller ones are around 11.5".

2) The companion to the beer tray is the tip tray. These smaller trays were used to return the change to the tavern patron just as they are today. In days of old breweries used the opportunity to place advertisements in front of the beer drinkers.

3) Before world war II American breweries often played up their German heritage by showing german scenes on their trays because of the long-standing reputation of German beers. With the onset of World War II they tried to play down their German connection.
