California Breweries History: Maier Brewing Company
Maier Brewing Company started as the Ed. Preuss & Company Philadelphia
Brewery in 1874. It became the D. Mahlstedt Company Philadelphia Brewery
in 1875 and the Maier & Zobelein Brewery in 1882. In 1907 it became the
Maier Brewing Company untill it was purchased by the General brewing company
in 1971 which closed the brewery in 1974.
